This is a spirit lock from the HMONG people of NE Thailand and Laos who believe that the body is made of many spirits. If you become ill or have an emotional feeling it meant that one or more of those spirits had left your body. Hence, the spirit lock is used to help lure and capture the spirit(s) back into your body for the recovery of your ?health?. The size of each lock represents a symbol for minor to grave ailments. They are made of silver and some are approximately 60 to 100 years old.
